You can find the quote "What God cannot do doesn't exist" written or spoken almost anywhere online. I am not against that; I think the people who wrote and spoke this quote did so with the best of intentions. As a prophet of God, I have the mandate to correct any erroneous assumptions others may have about God and His Word. I have been living up to expectations ever since I received God's approval to begin delivering some of these challenging realities through preaching and teaching engagements, writings both online and offline, and word-of-mouth.
As a shining light for the body of Christ, it becomes extremely important for me to correct the well-intentioned users of the quotation and, at the same time, offer sound biblical facts in the end. I therefore submit the much talked-about piece to you titled, "God Cannot Do These Two Things!"
God is the Creator of the entire universe and is also our Maker. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, and knows every detail, down to the number of hairs on our heads. His power surpasses that of all other powers. God is omnipresent, which means that He is everywhere. God is also truthful, and His words, both written and spoken, are the only things in the universe that can be relied upon, and they're entirely accurate.
Just for a moment, think of living in a world where truth is hard to tell and where promises are meaningless to the ones who made them and where everyone's words could be lies or require more proof. A world like that would be dangerous and unreliable to live in. Nobody would know who to trust or on whom to rely. That's how things stand right now in today's world.
As children of God, we do not, however, live in such a reality. We live in a world where truth exists, where promises have significance, and where our loving God reigns in our lives and His words are true and fulfilling.
(1.) God Cannot Lie.
Although God is able to do all things, He has never and will never lie. Numbers 23:19: God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
If the word of God says that God cannot lie, then that is exactly how God is. The Bible repeatedly speaks of God as being trustworthy and true. He "cannot deny himself" (2 Timothy 2:13), and his words are "faithful and true" (Revelation 21:5). This demonstrates that God never says anything dishonest or deceptive and that he always honors his promises.
For example, God assured Noah that the earth would never be destroyed by a flood again after the flood. Since then, despite the numerous instances in which humanity has sinned, has God not kept that promise? He certainly does! Another instance of God's truthfulness can be found in the person of our Lord Jesus Christ. The Lord Jesus is the Word of God made flesh, and He is perfectly truthful in everything he says and does. The scripture read, and the word became flesh and dwelled among us.
John 1:14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
Jesus says the Son of Man will be killed and will rise from the dead on the third day. Has it not happened? That served as living proof that God is truthful and never lies.
Luke 24:6: He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
Luke 24:7: Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
(2.) God Cannot Fail.
Human fallibility and imperfection are the causes of failure. It results from weaknesses and shortcomings. Human failure is what causes automobile brake failures. You may be certain that a plane crash is caused by human limitations when one occurs. But God is neither constrained nor flawed. He has infinite power and wisdom. It is impossible for God to fail because He is perfectly Holy and incapable of any failure.
God promised Abraham that He would give him a child of his own. Even though it was impossible. Abraham had long since passed the gestational age when God made the promise. Sarah, his wife, was far too old to be able to give birth to a child for him. However, because God is infallible, He carried out His promise in due course, and in the end, Abraham became the father of Isaac, who was born to him by Sarah, his wife.
Genesis 21:2: For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him.
Genesis 21:3: And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.
The same is true for Elizabeth, who gave birth to John the Baptist, and Hannah, who was the mother of Samuel. I'm running out of space and time to recount all of God's truthfulness and faithfulness. God has never failed in any of His promises.
The Bible tells us that God's plans cannot be thwarted (Isaiah 14:27). His purposes will always be fulfilled (Psalm 33:11). And His promises will never fail (Hebrews 10:23). The book of Revelation gives us a glimpse of heaven and reveals God's holiness. In heaven, there is no iota of imperfection; everything is pure and perfect. The reason for this is that God himself resides there.
I want you to view this gospel message from God as more than just some facts. At least I know I'm not giving anyone any information other than the gospel, as I have received it from God.
Finally, let it be understood here that God would never lie or fail those who put their trust in Him, as these are His two primary impossibilities. Don't you think Satan finds it amazing when Christians assert that "what God cannot do doesn't exist," knowing for sure that God is truthful and cannot lie or fail? I have some happy news for you: God's imperfections serve as His perfect advantage because of the reality that God is all powerful, all truthful, all faithful, all lovely, and Holy.
1 Corinthians1:25: Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
So, instead of saying that "what God cannot do doesn't exist," I prefer to say, "God cannot lie or fail." Two things are beyond a doubt: God cannot lie or fail.
