There's a Moment When Silence is Appropriate

My recent absence from social media, where I usually share spiritual encouragement, prompted concerned inquiries from many of you. I am grateful for your care and commitment to your spiritual growths. However, this period of silence underscores the importance of discretion in what we choose to share publicly.

Let us consider the Transfiguration of Christ (Matthew 17:1-9). Jesus instructed his disciples to maintain confidentiality about this event until after his resurrection. This directive invites several interpretations:

* Promoting Understanding: The disciples likely needed time to process the experience fully. Prematurely sharing it could have led to misunderstanding.

* Prioritizing the Core Message: Jesus's focus remained on his ultimate message of death and resurrection. The Transfiguration, while profound, could have been a distraction from this core truth.

* The Significance of Timing: Jesus recognized the strategic importance of timing. The resurrection would be the turning point for shifting public perception; the Transfiguration would then serve to reinforce that message powerfully.

Points for Reflection:

1. How might strategic silence contribute to our spiritual growth and effectiveness as followers of Christ?

2. What principles can guide us in discerning which experiences are for public sharing, and which are to be held privately?

3. How can we cultivate trust in God's timing for both personal and public revelations?
