Change Your Life's Direction With God's Word, Part 4.

How can you tell whether your life is being lived outside of God's direction for it? The following are potential answers to consider:

I'm writing this with an unfathomable sense of excitement. Given the number of people around the world my publications have helped revive, restore, and bring back to the Lord through my God-giving mission to reach more people with the word of God through the power of the internet, all glory and honor be unto the Lord. The other day, I promised you guys that you wouldn't regret reading Part 3 of the Change Your Life's Direction With God's Word series: "Direction of  Hearing, Learn more." Step 3. I hope I kept my promise. Let's look at the "Direction of Moving," Step 4.

Deuteronomy 1:6: The LORD our God spake unto us in Horeb, saying, Ye have dwelt long enough in this mount:

In the preceding scripture, God addresses Moses on behalf of the Israelites. You have stayed on this mountain for far too long, God says. I suppose it's time to find direction for moving forward to the promised land. I may have been in the wilderness for too long.

It's possible that someone reading this has gone far too long without praying and fasting, living a sinful life in the name of God's grace. Think about this: sinners are not believers, and believers are not sinners. What if you've been living in your comfort zone for too long? God's patience is often taken for granted by humanity. Now is the time to reflect on who you are and make any necessary corrections in your spiritual development. Being a God of progress, He never intends for His children to be in a state of stagnation. Today, ask God to guide you toward a forward-moving relationship with Him. The scripture says, Psalms 37:23: The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Meaning that if our steps are not directed by God, then we are in trouble. Your life is on the verge of a collision if God isn't the one directing it. If you are not moving in the right direction, it is advisable that you do a U-turn back to God.

How can you tell whether your life is being lived outside of God's direction for it? The following are potential answers to consider:

1) You don't feel at peace or joyful in your relationships, at work, or in other endeavors. (John 14:27: Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid).

2) You perceive a void or a lack of satisfaction in your life. (Psalms 127:1: Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain).

3) If you have ever felt like you no longer believe in God or His plan for your life, (James 1:8: A double minded man is unstable in all his ways).

4) You are making decisions that go against your ideals or convictions in the Bible. (James 4:17 Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin). Consider your life from a different perspective if you experience any of these signs. Consider whether you are genuinely following God's plan for your life. Do you spend time reading God's Word and praying? If you're unsure of how to get back on track, there are a few things I may suggest you try.

- Start by discussing your worries with God. Request His guidance and strength to understand His will for your life. Resolve to seek help from a more mature person with whom you can open up.

- Look for a godly role model. I said this in one of my earlier posts. Inquire for divine direction. Talk to your pastor, a trusted Christian friend, or a mentor about your choices and ask for their advice.

- Additionally, study the Bible and pray each day. These two are as crucial as the oxygen you are breathing in and the eyes on your face. Just imagine anyone who didn't care about breathing but only wanted to live. Is it possible?

- Be mindful of your difficulties. God occasionally communicates with us by using our circumstances. Pay attention to your life's struggles and inquire from God as to what He is saying.

- Make the Holy Spirit your partner. With His assistance, you will be guided into every truth. By requesting His direction and assistance, you can discover God's plans for your life easily. Remind yourself that God is with you at all times and that He wants to guide you toward discovering His will for your life. Move in that direction. It is easy to veer from God's will if one is not guided, even though God has the best of intentions for you.

I want to thank you for reading. I know this has had an impact on you. The last series, step 5: "The Direction of Worship," is my next posting, and I can't wait to have you here again.
