"Change Your Life's Direction Through God's Word," Part 5.

What do you worship? Some people worship fame and money and all sort of things. What do you worship, my cherished reader? In John 4:23, the Bible says the time will come—and that time is now—when those who truly worship the Father will do so in spirit and in truth, for the Father seeks such to worship Him. To me, I worship the Almighty God, who made the universe, myself, and you. I won't ever apologize for this or for not worshiping the man-made gods of stone and wood, etc. John 4:22: Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship:

The journey, which began with Step 1: The Direction of Thinking: Read more, Step 2: The Direction of Seeing: Read more, Step 3: The Direction of Hearing: Read more, and Step 4: The Direction of Moving: Read more, is summarized in Step 5: "The Direction of Worship," part 5 of "Change Your Life's Direction Through God's Word." I want to thank those of you who have been following this series for your commitment and camaraderie. In case you're new, I respectfully ask that you go back and take your time studying them; you'll thank me for it later.

There are many people who fit the description in the passage above. They devote their days to worshiping things they have no idea of. What a funny approach it is to worship the created things rather than the Creator! I heard someone say the other day at a mall, "I worship the gods of my great-grandfather." I politely let him know that he was old enough and wiser than what he was saying. He eventually became quite touched and urged me to discuss Jesus with him. Of course, it was a one-time opportunity, and I took advantage of it. He must be serving God right now.

John 4:24: God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.

God is a Spirit, and He expects those who worship Him to do so in spirit and in truth. "In spirit and in truth" is a crucial phrase that needs to be taken into account. In spirit: To worship God in spirit is to give Him our entire heart, soul, mind, and strength. It entails giving Him sincere, genuine worship. That's exactly what it means to worship God in spirit. It means to worship God out of love for Him and because He is deserving of it.

In Truth: To worship God in truth is to do so in conformity with His written word, the Bible. Please stop if your approach to worshipping God is contrary to what He says in His word. You won't be taken seriously. To worship Him in truth is to worship Him based on who He is and what He has done. It is to worship Him in a way that is consistent with His character and His word. There is no one place or procedure that defines how to worship God in spirit and in truth, except the word of God.

What does it entail to worship God in spirit and in truth? The kind of worship I'm referring to here goes beyond what we typically do in terms of praise and worship. It extends beyond Sunday morning hymns. It is both an inner and outer form of worship. Worshiping God in spirit and in truth is not limited to a specific location or ritual. You can change your life's direction by worshipping God in spirit, in truth, and in a proactive manner.

There are many ways to worship God in spirit and in truth; let me share a few ones I have taught with you.

1) Praying to God and giving Him the fullness of our hearts.

2) Singing praises to God with a sincere heart.

3) Studying the Bible to gain a better understanding of God and His will is a form of worship.

4) Obeying God's commands and living a holy life are in line.

5) Sharing the gospel with others and inviting them to come to know Jesus Christ is worship to God.

Sincere Suggestions are:

✅Make time for God every day. Set aside some time each day to pray, read the Bible, and worship God.

✅Be sincere and authentic in your worship. Don't just go through the motions. Worship God with your whole heart and soul.

✅Focus on who God is and what He has done.

✅Worship God based on His character and His promises.

✅Worship God with your life, not just with your words. Share the gospel with others.

✅Invite others to come to know Jesus Christ and to experience the joy of worshiping God in spirit and in truth.

I pray that as you read this post, you will be transformed and that the Lord Jesus will be exalted in Jesus name.
