Change Your Life's Direction With God's Word. Part 2

Yesterday, I published Part 1, "Change your life's direction with God's word." Step 1: The Direction of Thinking: I promised to publish steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 in that order. Let's spend today focusing on the "Direction of Seeing."

Change your Life's Direction with God's Word. Part 2.

Yesterday, I published Part 1, "Change your life's direction with God's word; Learn more" Step 1: The Direction of Thinking. I promised to publish steps 2, 3, 4, and 5 in that order. Let's spend today focusing on the "Direction of Seeing." Jeremiah 1:11: Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.

Jeremiah 1:12: Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.

When God was about to transform Jeremiah, He wanted to be sure that Jeremiah could clearly see the changes He was about to bring into his life before the transformation. God didn't need to suddenly appear in front of Jeremiah and say to him, "Boy, are you ready?" I want to bring you along to see what heaven is like. God didn't have to act that way. He was primarily concerned with Jeremiah's orientation before preparing him for the illustrious future he had planned for him.

Everyone can act in response to what they have seen. The things we see have an impact on our thoughts. For instance, when you see favor, you'll speak favor, you'll hear favor, and favor will come after you. It is as easy as ABCD. There is no secret formula at play here. What did you see, Jeremiah? God asked. Jeremiah could have said, "I see nothing," if he hadn't seen anything. What you see will influence what you say, and what you say will motivate you to take action. As the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.

The Lord is sending me to someone today with the same question that was put to Jeremiah. Depending on a person's location or distinctive qualities, Jeremiah's question can differ significantly from case to case. Actually, this question is the same. What do you see, child of God? Do you see that flood of wickedness coming to ruin your life? What counts most is how you see some of these things.

The Prophet Isaiah wrote about this fact of reality in the Old Testament, and the Lord Jesus referred to it numerous times in the New Testament.

Matthew 13:14: And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Esaias, which saith, By hearing ye shall hear, and shall not understand; and seeing ye shall see, and shall not perceive:

My favorite quotation from the late Pa. Oral Roberts is, "Seeing the invisible doing the impossible." May his soul rest in peace. Our ability to see things correctly might help us. So, what do you see in that marriage, I ask? Do you see a split or a bright future? How do you see your ministry? Do you see a ministry that is successful or fails? What financial picture do you see? Are you seeing wealth transfers or generational bankruptcy and poverty?

The question is never-ending. The thing is, a person who isn't transformed can never see transformation. An unsaved person will never see anything good out of any situation. For this reason, I continue to insist that repentance should come before success.

Genesis 13:14–15 offers another point to consider. In this instance, God's promise to Abraham was exact to the full extent of his ability to see. It was like, they are all there for you to take, as long as you can see them. Today's world leaders have narrow perceptions because of their separation from God. They never have far-reaching vision. Unlike our world leaders, Abraham's supernatural capacity to think and see things differently has paid off today. Isn't Abraham still regarded as the patriarch of all peoples today?

Genesis 13:14: And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: Genesis 13:15: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever.

When it comes to God, one thing is certain: Each of God's promises is subject to a set of conditions. It's not the same as getting a free meal. In Abraham's context, the requirements for receiving were as stringent as he could see. To Abraham, God said, for all the land that you see, I will give it to you and your offspring forever.

I received a narrative, but I haven't been able to fully figure it out yet. The story is about a small church with only a few dozen members. I was told that 90% of the members were unemployed and were having financial trouble. In the midst of that, the pastor of this church had the gall to spend over $100,000 on advertising and flyers for the church anniversary. Unfortunately, no one was able to come on the anniversary day, not even those who had heard about the event by word of mouth. Everything was a waste of time and resources.

Question: What should we learn from this? Answer: Never attempt to build the kingdom of God on your own. Even though a building would eventually deteriorate and fall apart, an investment in a human life would endure forever. Do we still have some in the Church of God who can see beyond the box?

My advice to you is to do nothing when you can't get it straight from God, like Jeremiah. I have no doubt that reading this post will have a beneficial impact on your life.

It will be my pleasure to have you read Step 3 (The Direction of Hearing) in my upcoming posting.
